Workshop Description:

Green rolling hills, rows of cypress trees, vineyards as far as the eye can see, and fortified medieval towns, are just a few of the things we will see during this photography workshop! Tuscany is renowned for its sublime landscape, olive groves, and of course its wines and cheeses! Spending 5 nights and 6 days in Tuscany on this workshop will give you a taste of one of the most famous European landscapes and give you the opportunity to create some amazing images.

Our base for the whole trip will be a spectacular Agriturismo in the heart of Tuscany, situated close to all our Photography locations, this is the perfect place to relax and unwind between our sunrise and sunset shoots. The agriturismo has its own restaurant, indoor and outdoor pools, spa, and horse riding!

There are plenty of great compositions to shoot directly from the grounds of the Agriturismo. Since we really want you to get a taste of Tuscany on this workshop, and because Tuscany produces some of the finest wines in the world, we will be visiting a local winery for a tour of their facilities followed by wine tasting and local cured meat and cheese tasting.

Every day we will head out early to capture sunrise in a stunning location, if we are lucky, we will also have some morning mist or fog which will add a moody and atmospheric feel to our images. After sunrise, we will enjoy a hearty breakfast before having some downtime to relax, swim in the pool, rest, or edit our images. In the afternoon we will then visit and explore some of the most incredible medieval towns before heading out for sunset.

Day 1

We will meet at Rome Fiumicino Airport where we will pack everything into our vans and head for the heart of Tuscany, Val D’Orcia. After a light lunch, we will check into the agriturismo and you will settle into your own personal single room before we will have a quick briefing and head out to photograph the sunset, we will have dinner after sunset before returning to the agriturismo to get some well-needed sleep.

Days 2-5

We get up early and head out to shoot sunrise at one of the many awesome locations that Tuscany has to offer. If we get lucky, we will have some fog engulfing the landscape. After getting the best of the light, we will return to our agriturismo for breakfast, followed by some downtime to relax/rest. In the early afternoon, we will visit one of the quaint towns in the area before heading to our sunset location. After sunset, we will have dinner and then return to the agriturismo.

Day 6

Unfortunately, this is our last day, but we will still get up early to capture the sunrise at another of Tuscany’s famous locations. After shooting sunrise we will return to the agriturismo to have breakfast and pack our bags. We will then begin our journey back to Rome Fiumicino Airport.

Note: Our timetable is flexible and things may be moved around depending on the weather to optimize the experience and get better photos. If the weather isn’t great, we will use the time to talk about landscape photography and review the images we have captured. Mads

My name is Mads Peter Iversen, I live in Denmark, my interest for photography exploded in 2011, and I've been working as a full-time landscape photographer since 2016. I am educated schoolteacher with a master's degree in educational philosophy. After trying out other photography genres, such as headshot photography and commercial videography, I've settled on fine art landscape pictures. Besides landscape photography I also run a YouTube channel focused on the educational side of landscape photography. My experience with videography and video editing goes back to 2002. I love to be in nature and photograph many different landscapes, which results in my photos being very varied. Everything from magical Milky Way night photos, over epic vistas, to calm and atmospheric forest scenes. It's the full spectrum all the way from the relaxing and peaceful over the epic awe and wonder to the dramatic and moody.

Sam

I was born and raised on the island of Malta, where my love for beautiful seascapes began. I have always enjoyed being outdoors and surrounded by nature. Growing up on an island, has meant that I always had a special bond with the sea, this led to seascapes being a natural comfort zone and starting point in photography. In 2014, I went on an expedition to climb Mount Etna and later that year also climbed Monte Rosa, spending time in the mountains is what sparked my passion for landscape Photography. In 2016 I traveled to Iceland for the first time, realising a dream and further affirming my passion for landscape photography. I have always been amazed by the night sky, and going camping often has led me to experiment with astrophotography and shooting the night sky. I love outdoor activities like camping, hiking, climbing, scrambling and just exploring new places in general! I also just love taking time out to appreciate the world around me.
